The weekend of 19-20 October saw the beginning of the year long process for a cohort of coaches to achieve their Level Three status.

21 coaches attended and form part of the year long NSW Rugby Emerging Talent Coach Program.

Sydney Metro Rugby Development Manager Owain Roberts said coaching is fundamental to the development of rugby in NSW.

“Our Coach Development and Education has to support and develop our coaches at all levels of the game,” Roberts said.

“It’s great to have the Emerging Talent Coach Program back after a three year hiatus.”

Over the next 12 months, the program will help coaches to develop their own team and game profiles, as well as offer mentoring in both training and match day environments.

Daryl Gibson and Shannon Fraser, as well as NSW Rugby staff, were on hand to facilitate the participant’s learning and share their coaching philosophies.

We look forward to continuing to support our coaches development throughout the program.
