The Sydney Girls Under 15s team play Brisbane at Ballymore on Sunday.

One of the young players is 14-year-old Hollie Cameron, who is one of three budding rugby players in her family along with brothers Boston, aged 9 and 17-year-old Jordan.

“My two brothers and my dad have been trying to get me out of netball to play rugby. It’s very different to netball, but I tried it and loved it and now I’m playing with the first Sydney Girls Under 15s team,” Hollie said.

“From playing rugby I’ve learn a lot more discipline and how to control my game better. I play a couple of positions right now, I’m a second rower and a breakaway flanker and would love to play for the Wallaroos one day,” said Hollie, who plays for the Gordon Club.

The Sydney Girls Under 15 team was selected following the NSW State championships, which was won by a combine Parramatta/Randwick side.

The “State of Origin” game kicks off at 1050 AEST time on Sunday followed by Sydney Girls Under 17s versus Brisbane Girls Under 17s. Both games will be streamed live on the Brisbane Junior Rugby Union’s Facebook page.
