The location for the NSW Waratahs Round 9 Super Rugby AU clash with the Melbourne Rebels has been confirmed for Leichhardt Oval on Saturday 29 August.

It’s also been confirmed that NSW Waratahs Members will receive a discount when purchasing tickets for the match.

A Melbourne Rebels home game – to be played in Sydney’s inner-west – is the result of ongoing border restrictions and stage four lockdowns still in place in Victoria.

It sees the Rebels continue their nomadic season in 2020, however the hosts are fairly familiar with the suburban venue, having played their Round 5 and Round 6 games against the Western Force and Brumbies respectively.

Leichhardt has proved a happy hunting ground for Rob Penney’s side, who registered a strong pre-season win over the Highlanders at the venue back in January.

With a congested ladder coming into the pointy end of the season and only the top three sides progressing to the Finals, the fixture shapes as a must win for both teams who will be striving to keep their title hopes alive.

Tickets will be available on sale this Friday 21 August from 10am via TicketMaster.

All Waratahs members will receive a 25% discount on tickets, with all registered Junior Rugby players are free to attend the match.
