NSW Rugby Union (NSWRU) is once again teaming up with Principal Partner, Daikin Australia to support the game at the grassroots by delivering Junior Packs to rugby clubs across the state

In 2020 the popular initiative focused on regions affected by drought and fire, helping clubs and communities from the bush to the beach.  This year the initiative is focusing on girls and women’s rugby as well as clubs affected by floods.

Daikin and NSWRU have selected eight clubs to receive Junior Packs – complete with Daikin goal post pads, hit shields, rugby balls & carry bags, cones, water bottles & carriers and an air compressor pump – before the start of the 2021 season.

Daikin Australia’s National Marketing Manager Dan Tosh was delighted to continue to take part in the pack giveaway.

“We are absolutely thrilled to be able to run this program again for Junior rugby clubs especially this year with an emphasis on supporting female participation,” Tosh said.

“It’s also our way of contributing to the efforts of all those that work hard throughout the year in their local Rugby Clubs.”

NSWRU General Manager of Community Rugby Mark Green praised Daikin for their support of women and girl’s rugby.

“Women’s rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the world and its great that Daikin have focused on this area of the game in 2021,” Green said.

“Our NSW Women’s side are the current three-time undefeated Super W Champions and it’s fantastic that Daikin are supporting the next generation in women and girl’s rugby.”

NSWRU Country Executive Officer, Stephen O’Brien said the contribution from Daikin would have a huge impact on the flood affected clubs.

“Over the past couple of years some country areas have been doing it tough,” said O’Brien.

“You throw the recent floods on top of that and you can see why the ability for clubs to support their players with the necessary equipment becomes so difficult.

“For Daikin to offer their Junior Pack program to clubs who have been affected by the floods in 2021 is fantastic, we’ve seen the benefit it’s had at clubs across the state in previous years and this will be no different.”

NSWRU would like to thank Daikin for their generosity in supporting club rugby again in 2021.

Congratulations for the following clubs who will receive the Daikin Junior Packs:

Oatley, Wests, Forest, Hills, Hawkesbury, Central Eastwood, Kempsey, Wauchope.
