Max Jorgensen has won the 2023 Newcomer of the Year award at RUPA’s (The Rugby Union Players' Association) 2023 award ceremony.

Jorgensen has had a stellar year for a player who only turned 19 in September.

Debuting against the Brumbies in round 1 of the Super Rugby Pacific, Jorgensen became only the third Waratah to score a double on their Super Rugby debut matching the feat with Matt Burke (1996) and Mark Nawaqanitwase (2020).

Jorgensen finished the season with 11 games and 4 tries and took home the Chris Whitaker Aspiring Waratah Medal at the 2023 end-of-year season awards.

To cap off already a great season, Jorgensen was selected in the Wallabies 2023 RWC squad that traveled to France.

Jorgensen is currently rehabbing from his ankle injury sustained at the World Cup, he's making progress as expected and will be running in the next 1-2 weeks.
