The NSW Waratahs are proud to announce a three-year partnership with Precision Fuel & Hydration, who will provide hydration and energy products for the Waratahs, Gen Blue, and Sevens teams on match days and in training.
Launched in 2011, Precision Fuel & Hydration has spent years working with elite athletes and technology partners to develop a simple and effective way to help athletes understand and manage their individual hydration needs.
The sports scientists at PF&H work with teams to create personalised hydration strategies for each player so they can effectively manage their individual sodium and fluid intake to help maintain peak performance, as well as providing carbohydrate and caffeine products to manage their energy levels.
Precision Fuel & Hydration has provided services to professional sports teams in the English Premier League, International Rugby Union, the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, Formula 1 motor racing, MotoGP, and Indy Car, as well as elite individuals from the worlds of cycling, running, triathlon and more.
NSW Waratahs Head of Athletic Performance Nick Lumley welcomed the new partnership.
“Hydration plays a key role in peak performance, especially in the Southern Hemisphere where our team can play in temperatures of up to 30 degrees and lose significant weight through sweat losses,” Lumley said.
“Individuals will have varying levels of both fluid and sodium loss throughout a gameday so to have a partner that can tailor our hydration needs specific to each player in the team is hugely beneficial.
“We believe this is an area we would like to do better in and are extremely excited to take advantage of their world-class products which are drug screened to the highest possible levels.”
