Biography

Debuting for the club in 2018, a Cowra native, Holmes was one of 16 debutants in 2018 when he came on as replacement in the NSW Waratahs opener against the Stormers. A proud country lad who moved to Newcastle for club rugby, Johnson-Holmes is one of the team’s rising front rowers. The decision led to his selection in the NSW Combined High Schools and Australian Schools team in 2015. A strong U20s Super Rugby season earnt him selection into the Australian U20s for the 2017 Junior World Championship. That same year he won the 2017 Dave Dennis Player of the Year Award for NSW U20s Academy player of the year. He has come through the age grade ranks at NSW Rugby, representing Gen Blue and the NSW Country Eagles in NRC. While a stellar 2019 in Super Rugby, saw him thrust into international rugby where he earnt his debut cap against South Africa.
