Biography

As a dynamic utility back, Kurtley Beale brings the ability to play anywhere in the backline. As a 16-year-old Beale was playing First XV rugby for St Joseph’s College, Hunters Hill. In 2005, he earnt his first taste of international rugby playing Australian Schoolboys and only a year later was named captain of the side. His superb skill in the No.10 jersey saw Beale signed with the NSW Waratahs in 2007, debuting for the club that year and becoming the first choice flyhalf by 2008. His first stint with the club ended in 2011 before moving to Melbourne for two years. His return in 2011 was instrumental in building towards the clubs 2014 premiership, in a game where he provided two try assists. Earning over 100 caps for the Waratahs Beale also earnt his International debut in 2009 against England going to earn over 80 test caps to date. Despite moving to Coventry England for one season in 2016, Beale again returned to NSW Waratahs in 2017. Named as the 2020 vice-captain, he will provide vital leadership to the side.
