Indigenous Rugby
In 2014-15 only 62% of Indigenous students finished Year 12 as opposed to 86% of non-Indigenous Australians. By working in partnership with Aboriginal educators and community members, we are developing engaging school-based programs that not only provide physical and mental education, but also help promote the importance of attending school and getting an education.
Rugby is a fantastic vehicle to build self-esteem, confidence and a sense of achievement for which will better equip young Indigenous Australians to pursue further education as well as obtain ‘work ready’ skills.
Fundraising priorities include:
- Partnering with Aboriginal educators and community members to deliver school-based rugby programs that promote school attendance and health education.
- Grow Indigenous participation in all levels of the game.
