On this day in 2010 Drew Mitchell bagged four tries in the Waratahs' record 73-12 win over the Lions at the Sydney Football Stadium.

Mitchell made Waratahs history becoming the first New South Wales player to score four tries in a Super Rugby match.

He jokes saying he actually scored five tries after a blunder in his in-goal gifted a try for his opposing winger, Tonderai Chavhanga.

That game was a milestone for Captain Phil Waugh who overtook Chris Whitaker for Waratahs Appearances with 119.

Waratahs: 73 (D Mitchell 4, L Turner 2, J Holmes 2, D Mumm, T Carter, W Palu tries; B Barnes 9 conversions)

Lions: 12 (T Chavhanga, JC J van Rensburg tries; B Francis conversion)
