Andy Muirhead

Andy Muirhead is a versatile and dependable member of the ACT Brumbies backline, capable of covering both wing and fullback.   Born and raised in Brisbane, Queensland, Muirhead developed his game at Brisbane State High before representing Brisbane City, where his consistency and work ethic marked him as a player ready for the next step. 

On the hunt for a Super Rugby opportunity, Andy made the move to Canberra in 2017 and quickly made an impression, debuting against the Southern Kings. A series of standout early performances earned him a full-time contract, and he has remained a valued member of the Brumbies squad ever since. Known for his reliability, never-say-die attitude and strong rugby IQ, Muirhead has built a reputation as one of the competition’s most trustworthy back-three players. His impact was highlighted last season, crossing the tryline nine times. 

Heading into the 2026 season, Muirhead’s focus is on pitching in wherever the team needs him, with increased competition and opportunity across the back three. His experience, professionalism and consistency make him a key figure as the Brumbies look to build momentum and push deep into the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific campaign.
