Joining the club in 2022, Dylan Pietsch serves as a critical Winger with a pace for days for the NSW Waratahs. Born and bred in Wiradjuri Country NSW, Pietsch grew up playing rugby for his hometown team the Leeton Phantoms, before attending the Kings School and representing GPS 1s and the NSW 1s as a backrower in 2017. The talented junior was then selected in the Australian 7s program straight out of High School and has been a mainstay on the Sevens tour, culminating in Australia’s Olympics campaign in Tokyo where he featured in every match and scored a critical try for the Aussie side. Despite spending most of his time in the seven-man game, the former Olympian has plenty of experience in the Shute Shield playing for Randwick where he made his First Grade debut at nineteen years old.

The proud Wiradjuri man was also awarded the Chris Whitaker Aspiring Medal (Rookie of the year). Evidently, Pietsch is a jack-of-all-trades and the Tahs are grateful to have secured him in Sky-Blue, ready to excel in the 2023 season of the Super Rugby Pacific Competition.
