As a graduate of the Gen Blue Academy, Mark Nawaqanitawase did not have a traditional rise to the NSW Waratahs, with the determined winger taking every opportunity after arriving in the NSW Rugby pathway later than most. A product out of St Patrick’s College in Strathfield, Nawaqanitawase or ‘Marky Mark’ as he is popularly referred as, is an exciting attacking prospect having been named the Dave Dennis Elite Youth Development Player of the Year (2019). The outside back’s meteoric rise saw him debut for the NSW Country Eagles in 2019, the Australia U20 side for the Oceania Rugby U20 Championship (2019), before making his Super Rugby debut in 2020. Nawaqanitawase also made his Wallabies debut against Italy at the 2022 Spring Tour after catching Dave Rennie’s attention with his performance within the Australia A Squad for the Pacific Nations Cup.
