This week we look at two standouts for Sydney and NSW Country in the 2019 National Rugby Championship (NRC), after both putting in solid performances in Round 6 of the competition.

Despite Sydney and the Eagles not getting the result on the road, Gordon and Craig notched some strong numbers against the QLD Country and the Vikings respectively.

Gordon has led the way for Rob Taylor’s side and been a focal point in attack for the Eagles – crossing the line for a third time in Round 6.

With more than 40 carries for the season, Gordon continues to showcase what a threat he is with ball-in-hand – amassing 6 clean breaks and beating 11 defenders.

He’s also proved an able support to Mack Mason – and now Connor O’Shea – with kicks in play, notching 19 to go with more than 90% passing accuracy.

For Sydney, Craig has been a constant for Chris Whitaker appearing in all six fixtures this season – scoring two tries.

His more than 30 carries have produced 3 clean breaks, 5 offloads and a clean break assist.

Defensively, Craig sits at the pointy end of the competition’s overall standings with 66 tackles, he’s also won 6 turnovers across his six appearances.

The Eastwood product has been in excellent form at the lineout, throwing at a near 90% win rate.

Sydney will host the Western Force in Round 7 at Woollahra, while the Eagles will head to Canberra to take on the Vikings.
