SuperSport Schools and Sideline Sport unite young players, families and rugby communities across two continents this weekend, sharing 13 matches between South Africa and Australia.
This weekend, 22–23 August 2026, SuperSport Schools and Sideline Sport will connect rugby communities across two continents through a first-of-its-kind international content-sharing initiative.
Six Australian Colts Rugby semi-finals will be made available to South African audiences on the SuperSport Schools OTT platform, while seven marquee South African schoolboy fixtures from the Virseker Noordvaal Finals and King Price Derby Series will be shared with Australian audiences via NSW Rugby TV and Streamer.
The initiative serves as a proof of concept for how digital platforms and content partnerships can remove geographical boundaries, expose emerging talent to new audiences, and bring rugby communities closer together, regardless of the distance between them.
NSW Rugby CEO Peter Murphy welcomed the partnership as a chance to put community rugby on a global stage.
This partnership puts NSW community rugby in front of a completely new audience. Our players and clubs put in the same hard work whether five people are watching from the sideline or five thousand from across the world, this gives them a stage that matches that effort.
Sideline Sport CEO Glen McGoldrick echoed that sentiment, highlighting the opportunity the exchange creates for young players on both sides of the world.
Sideline Sport exists to make sure great sport doesn't go unseen just because of where it's played. Connecting South African and Australian schoolboy rugby is exactly the kind of reach we built this platform for.
South African audiences can watch the Australian fixtures live on SuperSport Schools. Australian audiences can watch the South African fixtures live and free across two platforms:
NSW Rugby TV: NSW Rugby Union's dedicated community rugby streaming service, built to make club, school and community rugby accessible to supporters and families who can't be there in person.
Streamer: Australia's premier community sport streaming platform, offering live matches, replays and club content across a wide range of sports and competitions, including NSW Rugby. Most content on Streamer is free to watch.
This collaboration is more than a rugby content exchange between South Africa and Australia; it shows what is possible when sport, technology, broadcast and OTT platforms unite around a shared purpose.
Young South African players will be seen by rugby communities thousands of kilometres away, while South African audiences will be introduced to some of Australia's brightest emerging Colts talent.
In the process, the partnership creates a bigger stage for the next generation to shine on, and a new way for rugby communities on opposite sides of the world to connect.
