No more than twelve hours later, however, the pair will be sitting side by side on their way over to Queenstown to reunite with the team following the round 14 clash against the Highlanders.

Kellaway spelled it out for us the morning after the Super Rugby squad departed for Dunedin.

“We (Jack and I) are off playing Gordon this weekend at Coogee oval, then we are off to Queenstown on Sunday to meet up with the team ahead of the Chief’s game the following Sunday,” said Kellaway.

“(I’m) up against Jack this weekend, so it’s going to be good to see him return from injury - particularly at Coogee Oval. What a good place to return!

Flanker Jack Dempsey is raring to go this weekend when he will take to the field for the first time since sustaining his injury playing in the Sky Blue.

“We play Randwick tomorrow down at Coogee, so it’s going to be my first game back in ten weeks,” said Dempsey. “It’s a good game to come back to against a strong Shute Shield team.

“A lot of my mates play there – Andrew Kellaway, Andrew Deegan and Reece Robinson so it will be interesting.”

According to the backrower, there is no place like home.

“It’s a shame we aren’t playing at Chatswood Oval but I am sure that Coogee Oval will be just as good. I’m just really looking forward to being back and playing rugby.”

The young pair will play face off at Coogee Oval on Saturday afternoon, when Randwick will host Gordon at 3:00pm. At 5:30PM AEST, the NSW Waratahs will then be tackling the Highlanders at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin – watch live on Fox Sports.
