The Junior Club Blitz goes into full swing this fortnight, and will see all players from the NSW Waratahs squad paying 33 junior clubs across Sydney a special visit to one of their training sessions.

The team, who have just visited the Sylvania Bulldogs Junior Rugby Club on Saturday for their 50th birthday celebration, will be out in force over the next two weeks.

NSW Waratahs Assistant Coach Nathan Grey believes both the Junior Clubs and the players are the beneficiaries of this initiative.

“It’s awesome to see the players connecting with their roots,” said Grey. “It is exciting for the juniors to have their heroes come to their training session, and the players feel welcome and rewarded for staying in touch with the very clubs that raised them.”

Nineteen clubs will have NSW Waratah cameos in the first week of the Blitz, leaving fourteen clubs in the second. Outside of these two weeks are more school visits, the next school visit being St Joseph’s College in Hunters Hill on Tuesday 16th.

The Sydney Junior Club Blitz will officially begin on next Tuesday May 16 with respective players attending Bays Juniors, Burraneer, Hunters Hill and St Ives on the first day.
