NSW Rugby (NSWRU) has once again teamed up with Principal Partner, Daikin Australia to support the game at the grassroots by delivering Junior Packs to rugby clubs across the state.

The popular initiative focused on regions affected by bushfires in 2020, helping clubs and communities from the bush to the beach.

Daikin and NSWRU selected seven clubs to receive Junior Packs – complete with Daikin goal post pads, hit shields, rugby balls & carry bags, cones, water bottles & carriers and an air compressor pump.

Daikin Australia’s National Marketing Manager, Dan Tosh said that the giveaway was a way they could assist clubs in getting back on the field.

“It’s been such a difficult time for communities across the country with the impacts of COVID-19 and especially for areas that are still recovering from devastating bushfires,” Tosh said.

“When selecting clubs to assist through our Junior Pack giveaway, we really wanted to focus on those areas that had been hardest hit during that period.

“This [giveaway] is a truly rewarding part of our association with NSW Rugby and the Waratahs, to see junior teams fully equipped at training and enjoying their rugby is something we’re proud to be a part of.”

NSW Rugby CEO, Paul Doorn said that the contribution Daikin had made to junior rugby in recent years had been a significant one.

“The Daikin Junior Packs are so well received by clubs across the state, it’s been such a popular program,” Doorn said.

“When they came to us with the idea of focussing on clubs from regional areas that had been impacted by this year’s bushfires, it was something we were really supportive of.

“Our game and the clubs that make it so great are the lifeblood of communities across New South Wales, I’m so glad to see these contributions go some way to helping areas that have done it tough in recent times.

“I’d like to thank the team at Daikin for their commitment to supporting our game at all levels, we’re so appreciative of their efforts and are proud of our ongoing association.”
