NSW Rugby would like to congratulate the 15 junior referees who have been accepted into the 2021 Rugby Australia School Student Scholarship (SSS) program.
The Rugby AU SSS was introduced a number of years ago to help raise the profile of refereeing at schools, and to provide encouragement for young referees to remain in refereeing when they leave school.
Since 1999, NSW has had 298 referees pass through the SSS program. Of those, nine have gone on to become regular Shute Shield referees, including current World Rugby Referees Angus Gardner and Amy Perrett.
