Former England U20s prop Hayden Thompson-Stringer has put pen to paper inking a two-year deal with the NSW Waratahs.

Thompson-Stringer joins the Waratahs with an experienced resume having plied his trade for Bedford Blues, Saracens, Brive, and La Rochelle, and will add a wealth of knowledge, size, and experience to the Waratahs’ front-row stocks.

After spending a short time with Manly Marlins in the Shute Shield, the English forward was excited to return to Australia and play for the Waratahs.

Thompson-Stringer said, “I’m grateful to Darren and his coaching staff for having faith in me and giving me another opportunity to come over and represent the famous sky blue.”

“NSW are heading in the right direction, and I hope I can contribute to their journey.”

Waratahs Head Coach Darren Coleman was thrilled to add another experienced front-rower to his roster.

“Hayden has now gained plenty of experience and it’s exciting to have him in a sky-blue jersey,” Coleman said.

“One of the things we identified from our season review was the need to add some size and depth to our front row roster, and Hayden brings that to our team.”

“He made a very positive impression on people in his Manly stint some years back, as a good person and team man, he returns with his young family and it’s great to be able to provide life and travel opportunities to good young men through our great game.

I know he’s very much looking forward to getting back to Sydney to have a crack at Super Rugby.”

Thompson-String will join the squad on November 6 for the Waratahs’ pre-season.
