The NSW Rugby team is back on the road, continuing the momentum of the Our Turn Camps with a Western NSW road trip that will see the team visit Bathurst on Friday, November 21, and Orange on Saturday, November 22.
Powered by the Play Our Way Australian Government initiative, the team is bringing inclusive and empowering rugby experiences to even more girls across the state.
Following the successful first leg through Tamworth, Moree, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Illawarra and multiple Sydney Metro locations.
The Our Turn Camps are expanding their reach to ensure regional communities continue to have the same opportunities, access, and sense of belonging as girls in the city.
Each camp is crafted to build confidence, foster friendships, and show girls that rugby is truly their game. No experience is required. Every girl is welcomed, encouraged, and supported to give it a go.
“These camps continue to grow because the need is real. Girls in regional NSW deserve the same access to programs that build their confidence, develop their skills, and connect them with others,” said Linda Hutton, Female Participation Manager.
“Bathurst and Orange are full of bright, talented young athletes, and we cannot wait to be part of their journey.”
NSW Rugby CEO Peter Murphy reinforced the significance of the program, highlighting its long-term impact on the women’s and girls’ game.
“Our Turn is more than a camp - it is an investment in the future of our sport,” Murphy said.
“We are committed to growing the game for girls across every corner of New South Wales. By expanding these opportunities and reaching new communities, we are building a stronger, more inclusive pathway that will shape the next generation of female players and leaders.”
The Our Turn team remains committed to ensuring that rugby is accessible for every girl in New South Wales.
By taking the camps directly into communities across the state, NSW Rugby is breaking down barriers and opening doors for girls who may not otherwise have the chance to experience the sport.
“This road trip is only the next chapter,” Hutton added.
“We have already seen amazing energy from the towns we have visited so far. Western NSW is going to bring that same fire. And with more venues planned for 2026, we are only getting started.”
The Our Turn Camps focus on fun, safety, confidence, and connection, with sessions delivered by NSW Rugby development staff and supported by some of the state’s leading female players.
Through the Play Our Way initiative, NSW Rugby is investing in the next wave of female athletes, leaders, and change makers.
The Western NSW road trip follows on from the October trail that covered Sydney Metro, Hunters Hill, Camden, Kiama, Dubbo, and the northern regional corridor.
Together, these camps are building a statewide movement powered by opportunity, inclusion, and strong community support.
For girls across Bathurst and Orange, this is their turn. Their time. Their opportunity to step into the game.
