The Fijian Drua put on a masterclass display in wet conditions in Suva to beat NSW Country Eagles 48-7.
The Fijians were full of running and made the most of every opportunity offered.
Fiji got off to a flyer through two tries in quick succession to take an early 12-0 lead.
Whilst NSW Country's scrum had Fiji in trouble conceding multiple penalties, they couldn't capitalise and when a pushover try looked certain the ball popped loose and the Fijians countered in a length of the field effort that nearly ended in another try.
They didn't have to wait long when a missed tackle in the following play allowed the Fijians to go three tries up.
The home team piled on the pressure that led to a fourth try before NSW Country's replacement hooker Mahe Vailanu touched down for the visitors off the back of a lineout drive for a 24-7 scoreline at the break.
Fiji continued their dominating first-half performance in the second 40 to record a 48-7 win.
NSW Country host Brisbane City at Camden Rugby Park on Sunday 7 October at 1500 (AEST) as part of a doubleheader with NSW Country Women versus Sydney women.
