“Massive.”

After facing three teams in the South African conference on consecutive weekend, two of which were on the road, the 23-year-old is aware of the challenge that the NSW Waratahs will face against the Melbourne Rebels in Sunday’s Vodafone Super Rugby match.

“It’s no secret they (Melbourne Rebels) are in good form and it’s our job to stop that form and put them to the sword. It’s going to be a tough challenge,” Staniforth said.

“They are a very good side but in saying that, with challenges come the awesome opportunity to take them on. It’s what we play the game for: it’s for those games where it’s a rivalry and a contest.”

Coming off the back of a loss to the Jaguares in Buenos Aires, Staniforth is philosophical about that result.

“You process the game, look at the positives and negatives and you just move forward. You can’t live on last week. However, we created a lot of opportunities. But the flipside of that was the negatives, which were our unforced errors and turnovers of the football,” Staniforth said.

“We’ve got to execute those skills. It’s easy to come out and say that but at the end of the day, we’ve got to put that performance on the park. No one comes to see us train, it’s about how we play and that’s what we will be judged on.”

The NSW Waratahs will host the Melbourne Rebels in the Weary Dunlop Shield contender at Allianz Stadium this Sunday 18 March at 4:00pm (AEDT). To secure your seat, head to https://nsw.rugby/experience/ticketing
