As part of the recent initiative which sees the Tahs in schools including more recently Endeavour Sports High and Barker College, the NSW Waratahs stopped by Hunter’s Hill yesterday.

The side, who wield seven ex-Joeys students in Tom Robertson, Damien Fitzpatrick, Paddy Ryan and Ned Hanigan to name a few, were under the watchful eye of dozens of school kids who were in the stands.

Also in attendance was NSW Waratahs CEO Andrew Hore, who takes pride in seeing the team integrating with the schools.

“Schools are a vital part of the game in Australia”, said Hore. “The foundations of the sport are built at this level, and it is crucial that we celebrate rugby with them.”

Following their hard-hitting session in the afternoon sun, the school’s First and Second XV’s made their way onto the pitch to commence their training – under the guise of the NSW Waratahs.

The team made their way around the field amongst the various skills and drills, which saw Joeys’ alumni Damien Fitzpatrick take charge of a goal-line attacking exercise.

The NSW Waratahs take on the Melbourne Rebels this Sunday afternoon at 4:00PM AEST at Allianz Stadium, get your tickets at www.waratahs.com.au/tickets
