NSWRU has planned approximately 30 courses to run from the end of February, until the end of March.

Led by NSWRU Community staff all across the state, with some help from specialist coaches and newly trained NSW World Rugby Educators, there will be plenty to learn.

NSWRU Coach Development and Education Manager, Owain Roberts said it’s great to get back underway and delivering face-to-face courses again.

“Coach development is really important - it dictates the environment that our players are in, and it’s what keeps them playing our great game,” Roberts said.

“It’s also great for the coaches themselves - players get feedback all the time but often coaches don’t. These courses provide the perfect opportunity for coaches to meet, discuss thoughts and ideas, challenge each other, and give peer feedback,” he said.

“Not to mention the post course support that we’re implementing this year too.

“We have big plans for coach support and development in 2021, we’ve already got a few courses up and published, with plenty more still to come.

NSWRU will also offer multiple referee courses throughout the month of March, as well as launching the new Referee Ready course, the new look introductory course for referees.

It will be available as both online webinars every two weeks or so, and as a face to face 3 hour course in your local area. With a few online modules to complete, the new format replaces the 8 hour Foundation course making it more accessible to new referees.
